Our Mission & Philosophy
Our mission at Amsterdam Chiropractic and Massage is to support your physical, mental, and emotional well-being through a holistic, patient-centered approach to care.
Our philosophy is to educate and empower individuals to optimize health through chiropractic care, massage therapy, movement, nutrition, and lifestyle support—helping you move better, feel stronger, and live well.
This approach is designed to complement, not replace, appropriate medical care.
Intent of Services
The intent of any and all chiropractic care, massage therapy, bodywork, rehabilitative exercise, nutritional support, functional nutrition guidance, and lifestyle recommendations offered by Amsterdam Chiropractic and Massage is to support the natural neurological, musculoskeletal, physiological, and biochemical processes of the human body.
Services and recommendations are provided from a holistic and supportive health perspective and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease outside the scope of chiropractic practice.
Amsterdam Chiropractic and Massage does not act as your primary care provider. You are responsible for maintaining an ongoing relationship with a licensed Primary Care Physician (PCP) and keeping them informed of all healthcare activities, especially if you are taking prescription medications or undergoing medical treatment.
Scope of Practice & Licensure
Providers at Amsterdam Chiropractic and Massage render services within the scope of their professional licensure under New York State law.
Chiropractic services are provided by licensed Doctors of Chiropractic
Massage therapy services are provided by licensed Massage Therapists
Nutritional, functional, and lifestyle guidance is educational and supportive in nature
Health coaching or educational services do not establish a medical doctor-patient relationship.
In-Person & Telehealth Services - Telehealth / Telemedicine Consent
By scheduling and participating in a telehealth consultation, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
You are voluntarily participating in telehealth services
You understand the benefits, risks, and limitations of telehealth
Telehealth visits may involve audio, video, or electronic communication
Physical examinations and vital sign assessments are limited compared to in-person visits
Telehealth visits are primarily educational and consultative in nature
You understand that you are an active participant in decision-making and may decline any recommendation at any time. If a telehealth visit is deemed inappropriate, you may be referred for in-person care or to another provider.
Telehealth services are provided only when legally permitted based on provider licensure and patient location.
Cancellations & Missed Appointments
We request a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice
Missed or “no-show” appointments
may be charged at the full service rate.
There is no charge for cancellations or rescheduling made more than 48 hours in advance.
Payment of Services
Payment is due at the time of scheduling or at the time of service
We accept cash, check, credit, and debit cards
A $25 fee applies to returned checks
You authorize Amsterdam Chiropractic and Massage to securely store a credit card on file, which may be charged for:
Visit fees
Missed or late-cancelled appointments
Additional services, supplements, or lab orders requested
You are responsible for any chargeback or declined payment fees.
Additional Time Charges
If a visit exceeds the scheduled time, additional charges may apply in 15-minute increments at a prorated rate. Charges will be applied after the visit is completed using the card on file.
Refund Policy
Services
No refunds are issued for services already rendered
Prepaid services may be refunded if cancelled with proper 48-hour notice
Prepaid visits cancelled by the office may be refunded if you choose not to reschedule
Packages
If a discounted service package is purchased and not fully used, any remaining balance may be refunded after recalculating completed visits at the regular fee schedule.
Supplements & Lab Work
Supplements and laboratory testing are often fulfilled by third-party vendors and are non-refundable. Please purchase only items you intend to use.
Primary Care Physician (PCP)
Amsterdam Chiropractic and Massage providers are not primary care physicians, are not on call, and do not replace your medical doctor.
You agree to:
Maintain an ongoing relationship with a PCP
Inform your PCP of all health, lifestyle, and supplement changes
Work with your prescribing physician regarding any medication adjustments
Medication Policy
Amsterdam Chiropractic and Massage providers will not discontinue or adjust prescription medications. Any changes must be made by your prescribing physician.
If your goal is to reduce reliance on medication, supportive lifestyle and wellness strategies may be discussed, and progress should be monitored by your medical doctor.
Public Health & Safety (In-Person Visits)
For in-person visits, we follow all New York State public health guidelines.
By attending an in-person appointment, you acknowledge:
There is an inherent risk of exposure to illness
You assume all risks related to in-person care
You agree not to hold Amsterdam Chiropractic and Massage or its staff liable for illness related to exposure
Please reschedule if you are experiencing symptoms of illness or have had recent exposure.
Photo, Testimonial & Marketing Release
You authorize Amsterdam Chiropractic and Massage and its providers to use:
Public online reviews
Testimonials
Photos or media voluntarily provided
for marketing, educational, or promotional purposes in digital or printed media, without financial compensation. Participation is voluntary.
Policy Updates
All policy updates are effective immediately upon posting and apply to all current and past clients. Updated policies may be viewed on our website or requested by email.
Emergencies
Amsterdam Chiropractic and Massage does not provide emergency care.
